Frequently asked questions
What dictionary does it use?
The TWL06 (Tournament Word List), used for Scrabble club and tournament play in the USA and Canada. Some words valid in the international SOWPODS list may not appear, and vice versa.
Does it work for Words with Friends?
Yes. Most WWF-valid words overlap with TWL06, so the tool is a reliable helper. Words with Friends uses its own list, so a handful of words differ.
How are points calculated?
Each letter uses its standard Scrabble value (Q and Z are 10, for example).
Letters supplied by a wildcard ? score 0, so the total reflects
what you would actually score with blanks on your rack.
Is using a word unscrambler cheating?
For ranked or tournament play, follow your game's rules. Most players use tools like this to study, learn new words, and practice between games.
Why isn't a word I expected showing up?
It may not be in TWL06, or it may need a letter you didn't enter. Try adding a wildcard or checking the spelling. Proper nouns and abbreviations are not included.
