Paid browser extension
The password generator, one click from your toolbar
Same cryptographically strong generator as the free web tool, but it lives in your Chrome toolbar and shows no ads. Passwords are created on your own device and are never sent anywhere — that does not change.
Installing is free. A one-time US$2.99 license unlocks it — no subscription, no account. Sold and licensed through Polar Software, Inc., our merchant of record, who also handle receipts and refunds — see our Terms. Requires Google Chrome 88 or later and one online activation. An Edge version is in review.
What the license unlocks
No ads, ever
The extension carries no advertising and no analytics scripts, and never will. The free web tool is ad-supported.
Always one click away
Pin it to your toolbar and generate a password without opening a tab or losing the page you are on.
Generates locally
Password generation itself is entirely local — nothing you generate is ever sent anywhere. The license re-checks with Polar when you're online and keeps working for up to 7 days offline, so it does need a connection now and then.
One-time purchase
US$2.99 once — no subscription, and the license never expires. Your key works on up to 5 browsers, and you can move it between them using the extension's "Deactivate this browser" button.
Install and activate
- Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it to your toolbar. Installing is free.
- Buy a license. Use the button above — Polar emails your license key right after checkout.
- Activate. Open the extension, paste your key, and it unlocks. This step needs an internet connection. Your key is then stored locally on your device.
Moving to a new machine? Your key covers up to 5 browsers. Open the extension on the old one first and click Deactivate this browser to free the seat, then activate with the same key on the new one. Uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser data does not release it.
If you can no longer get to the old machine, you can release the seat yourself from your Polar account — the receipt email links to it, and it lists every browser your key is active on.
Lost your key? Your Polar receipt has it — and if you cannot find it, get in touch and we will sort it out.
Prefer the free version?
The web tool does the same generation, in your browser, for free — it is just ad-supported and lives in a tab rather than your toolbar.
